On rainy days we'd go swimming out..
The De La Cruz collection was very cool, I found the museum all together to be very nice and vast. I found a love for to pieces in particular which made me greater appreciate art. The first was the collection of mirrors. The 52 mirrors were representational of all the weeks in a year and were all different color. Some warm colors, some come cool colors. I thought that was representational to life, because we have lively weeks, boring weeks, and just all together depressing weeks. The mirrors were infront of newspaper coverings which all pertained to Miami. As Miami citizens this was all together a representation of all of our lives through the fourth role of the artist seeing the world in new and innovative ways. I thought this to be a very cool way to express an idea. The second work to grasp my attention was a wall in the second floor that contained a large quote. From what I grasped from the quote it meant that life occurs so fast we don't have enough time to acknowledge the moments, because before we know it, everythings over. It was representational to the way artist saw life, and again portrayed the fourth role, seeing the world in new and innovative ways. All together this was a very nice museum, more cliche and typical as opposed to the rubbell collection but still very nice.
